I am so bloody proud of myself! i did six (i actually typed sex.. oops) criminal law problem questions today! but before that, my mind is indeed filled with sex. but only for the reason that i was doing a lot of problem questions with regards to rape and unconsensual sexual intercourse. S142 of the CJPOA 1994 defines rape as.
1. The act of sexual penetration (vaginal or anal) with another person, who is not consenting (along that lines lah) 2. And the accused must know that the victim was not consenting. ok. i digress. but it's interesting that the UK has changed the law to take into account that the test is now objective. i.e. there is an objective standard of consent. and yeah, who is going to decide? the JURY! omg. how are the jury going to know what is consent and what is not? poor jurors. but beyond that... i actually thought.... if Legalia does become reality? who am i going to rope in as partners? did some talking and laughing about it on the way back and here's what i did think about. haha.. Zher Ee - i'm so going to get him. He'll head our recruitment department! i'm sure he'll be a very good recruitment consultant. and of course, he heads the family division as well! Healthy wholesome look. oh and yah, with his bio knowledge can sit in the medical negligence arm of the firm too! FQ - I'm so going to buy out her bond with PSC. She's too good for the police anyway. c'mon, i can't imagine people calling her Inspector Ang. to me, inspectors must be big and bulky, and sing with a deep bass (Inspector Javert) but.. heh. she'll be much better as the Head of the Criminal Law division at Legalia. I simply love her sharp eye for detail. Jeanne - Hah. this one. i think it'll be hard to persuade her to join, but if she does, we'll offer her a generous pay packet and free Muller yoghurts every day.. and.... Head of the Intellectual Properties division! and she'll get a chair on the medical negligence arm of the firm too... haha! talking about that.. who'll head the division? hmmm.. medical negligence.. hmmm.. ahhhhh! Dr Michelle Phua... of course medical department need a doctor to head it right? and yeah, she'll fit the bill. of course she'll fit into the idea of Legalia as well. how many doctors look as good as she does? Hmmm.. Technology Law... i wonder if Yixiang will be interested in taking up the job. he helped me with this blogskin (thank you for that) and he's good with IT... but will a firm like Legalia bear attraction? sure hope it does.... Trusts and Equity - MELODY CHENG! i simply adore mel... i don't care but she's going to head the Trusts department. yeah. she is so going to rock the firm. she can fill in as the cookie-baking partner as well (and she and zher ee will be getting along well in the firm pantry debating about the next balance for their next chocolate chip biscuit). i hope they won't set off the fire alarm. and to another person i adore...... Carole Yang! yeah. Dr Carole Yang will be the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate Division of Legalia. why? cos the Corporate division will be housed in Tower 2, spanning 25 storeys along Marina Promenade, and she can carrie on her wailing in relative seclusion from me... but then again, i adore her, so she'll be the chief executive officer and her boss shall be...... more on that later. Livvy... simply adore her as well! lol. she'll take the PLC division, training and nannying the young pupils their way to sparkling legal careers with the best law firm in the world! i'm sure she can qie everyone of them. no ego cannot be suppressed by her. except mine. but while she's not nannying them, she'll be the CEO of the Civil Liabilities Division. yeah. she can apply her darling Dennings' High Street Homes cases as often as she'd like. and of course, she's good at it. ProBono Director. Mervyn Cheong. he's the man. he'll dispose of cases as fast as you can say.. oei! and he'll speak hokkien with all the delinquents we get. and he'll get along with them so well that he'll persuade them to give up the claim and stop wasting his and our time. and of course, we'll have Alan Ong and Alphonsus Ah-Seng on board to administer seperate treatment to more .. ermm.. litigious clients. ------------------------------- ok. that's all i've thought of for the time being for the legal arm of Legalia. of course we move along with the times, and with that, we have diversity! Heading the Investment Arm, Assoc-Prof Daniel Hue. Nobel Laureate and former Chief Economist at the MAS, and the youngest ever Director-General of Education. Second portfolio - Staff health and nutrition advisor. CEO's of the IA - heading the Domestic investments division - Mr Huang Junxiang! yeah brudder... you're learning from one of the best.. so be happy with it.. you'll move up one day... Heading the International Investments and Fiscal Divisions - Mr Wee Hong Kuan! resident hulk will put international economics lectures of the LSE into full swing under the Legalia flag as George Soros does with the US... Ace of Spades spears the international economy. Director of Human Resource Management and Chief Administrator - Mr Ted Low. charming, polished, holesome, smooth talker, can't sing for nuts but he's going to administer Legalia. Girls melt at his feet. good. he'll just post them to wherever we want them to be posted and they'll dreamily walk there... does away with the problem of stubborn, full-of-one-self pests. can get Jiewen to help too.. and Adrian as well. yeah. A-D-R-I-A-N! i'm sure there'll be a few happy men around. especially in xx division. Mr Terence Koh. much as i don't trust his accounting skills. we've went through enough together in black hell for me to know that Head of Accounts and Financing should be him. he knows a little tort law as well so i'll let him meddle in Civil liabilities. but unfortunately for him, livvy will keep a close eye on him. and yeah... Director of Public Relations and Events. JUAN! you're there! Ms Zhan Aijuan will head this department. busy firms like us need to talk to the press often, and organise huge events for our large staff base to keep the Legalia Spirit running strong. and who else better to head this? JUAN. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ and the head of all these??? of course. presenting the Director of Legalia, Head of the Corporate and Civil Liabilities divisions... epitomising the profile of the firm, Young, vibrant, capable and successful... me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *pinch. wake up. stop dreaming* but one is entitled to dream. yeah. but first. need to pass my exams. back to my books. oh. a bath first. shit. back to reality kelvin was inspired at 11:22 PM |
