In My Words

"Don't ever lose faith in who you are, for that's what makes you different.
Don't try to turn yourself into someone everyone else is, for if that happens, the world is a poorer place."

I'm starting to emphatise with DOL. Unlike his counterpart JOL who has no issue with scoring (not with girls but through his proxy Jermain Defoe), villa has been playing decent soccer but can't seem to win. not too sure about today's game with palace, i'll have a look tomorrow.

kinda having the same run with mahjong. comparitively, i think i'm a slightly better player now, as in having more tile awareness and improving my guarding skills, but just lacking that bit of luck. I know mahjong is kinda like a game of chance, but it's more tactical and involves some skill i think, and like a move on the soccer pitch, a general degree of skill should lead up to some material reward. if reward isn't forthcoming, sometimes it does lead to frustration.

no no. i'm not playing mahjong for the money. i'm happy to play for no stakes or whatsoever, but it's more for the mental challenge. and while i'm getting that occasional ping hu or man tai, i'd actually hope that it'll occur more often as some sort of indicator that my abilities are progressing.

it's like maths. you study the figures and do the interpretation. as you practise, you would expect your grades to improve. but as of now.. hmm

Today

Watched : Moulin Rouge
Most played song : Hai Pa - Lin Junjie
Toilet reading : National Geographic

Spent 3 hours on trusts. finally finished that silly assignment. glad i did though, cos that'll mean the end of obligatory holiday homework. i'll have to do well in trusts to pull up my land law module, cos i think i'll suck at that. almost absolutely vital to do well this year. yeah. it's really this year now.

---------------------------------------------------

the brits are finally going back to work tomorrow. which will mean i should see replies to my numerous applications coming back into mailbox. hopefully a better proportion will be positive news. i accept the fact that it's quite mad to take a gamble on me, in light of superior alternatives around. but i'll just try my luck. with luck, one never knows.

i know it's quite boring to keep harping on my life all the time, but tomorrow, should be something different. just in case i forget, a tirade against third world aid. remind me.
