In My Words

"Don't ever lose faith in who you are, for that's what makes you different.
Don't try to turn yourself into someone everyone else is, for if that happens, the world is a poorer place."

what do you do when you discover that in the coach's mind you are only a substitute, or a second choice, only to be used when the chips are down or when there's no one else to turn to, or when you're needed or you just happen to be the only one left on the bench. How does it feel to give you all during every training session and every time you're asked to perform a task on the field you do it capably? Or how does it feel when you find out that you are being passed over for other people because they have powerful backing which insists that they play every match or the club will no longer be supported, even though they are inept. How does it feel to be loyal and faithful to the club, but passed over for someone else who just sees the club as a temporary stepping stone for greater heights, and feels nothing else. And how does it feel to know that you're not on the teamlist again for that match not through the manager but through the newspaper or some lowly ball-boy who overheard the manager's plans.

Will you stay on in the team or would you walk. I'm sure some of you will stay on, but most of you will walk. but for me, thinking about it. the team is winning, there is a generally good relationship between both of us, and everything is finely balanced. If i become petulant and insist on being placed in the starting 11, would it upset the balance of the team? it probably would. by willing to sit on the bench and being ready for the call at any time, i probably will be making it easier for the manager to make the choices to keep the team winning, and to keep the team in equilibrium, as with balancing the interests of the team's playing personnel, the 67800 spectators in the stadium or the millions of fans across the world.

But would everyone think like me, i guess not. that is why some ppl will never understand, even though i do. Even though i'm only a substitute, i still wear the club's crest proudly on my chest, and that is where my heart is.

I read the news and I am appalled to read about the violent acts committed by the chinese in certain cities in china against objects of japanese origin. this is brainless, senseless, dumb.

This is almost as dumb as the Inter Milan fans who threw flares down onto the pitch at the San Siro on Tuesday. This is also almost as dumb as the Juventus Ultras who stalk turin looking for english liverpool fans and give them a whacking.

violence breeds violence and a vicious circle will again erupt. when will the world finally learn that violence is NOT the solution to anything? Neither is gossipping but then again, I shall say that as an aside.

I just spent the last 4 hours in school studying. Alone. yes, it was only me and me alone in the school cafeteria, hereforth known as the Brunch Bowl, or BB. at 1.30am in the morning there is only the rustling of papers, the frenzied scribbling, and the silent prayers of a 22 year old asian boy who is still staring at supposed land law concepts and wondering what they were. I promised myself no mad hours this year, but looks like it's going to be inevitable.
