Dreams are necessary for the proper functioning of any human. to have a dream, to have dreams, to have ambitions, to have hopes and to have something in the distance to look forward to, to work towards, to grin and take strides forwards are the stuff dreams are made of. but dreams sometimes just remain figments of an imagination, of a mirage in the desert where you work unfailingly towards and reach out to grasp but realise that it is nothing but thin air. and then you realise that it was not there to start with.to be disappointed when matters do not go your way is normal, to be devastated when many genuine hopes turn to ashes is normal, and to be disillusioned when you look again and you see others running off with the dreams you so desire. to achieve lofty heights one has to look up. no one climbs to the top of a mountain looking downwards, neither do you see the top of the building looking straight ahead. but unlike the sun setting into the horizon, dreams never move on their own towards your chosen line of sight, you have to look up towards it, to reach for it, and to strive towards it. you are guided but a belief that if you reach far enough, and you walk towards it, it will be there for you to grasp. but when your hands flail at thin air once more you just stare at it and wonder where did it go to in the first place. In a world of unlimited desires, there are limited means. it is a classic economic problem. In the face of overwhelming demand there is always limited supply to maintain a workable equilibrium. and for every dream of a man there is the dreams of another million. In such a scenario one can only keep reaching and walking, in the blind hope that one day what you grasp would not be thin air, for grasping at thin air is stupid, it will just appear to be like twinkle twinkle little star, just that you can't seem to wish upon this star. kelvin was inspired at 1:27 AM |
