"Don't ever lose faith in who you are, for that's what makes you different.
Don't try to turn yourself into someone everyone else is, for if that happens, the world is a poorer place."
- Sept 2005
trudging down to hyde park at 10am in the morning and tossing a frisbee around with 20 people around you, hucking the frisbee as far as you can, and constantly telling yourself that you're catching a frisbee, not a round ball that one is used to. Tossing the frisbee short and long, forehands and backhands. Ruling the end-zones.
Playing captain's ball with the same group of people and start playing stylish one-twos, leaping high and rejecting every ball that comes towards the captain you are guarding. taking goal throws and getting the ball to your captain in 5 passes. Running down the flanks as one would in a soccer match, remembering the footwork rules one always belches out to one's team.
Punting a Kooga up in the air and trying to prove to one of your favourite people that flat chested people can catch a rugby ball as well, trying to toss the ball ala a torpedo (as they do in six-nations), trying to pack both distance and height in a long kick upfield, and surviving a tackle from a winger-soon-to-be-scrum-half.
Attempting to curl a soccer ball towards a team mate, only to be confused and totally muck up your shot, the ball ending up nowhere near your intended "target" and begging for forgiveness for a badly misplaced pass.
Life is going to four seasons for lunch with old friends, and new ones. sitting at a table with a REALLY old friend and start hurling random insults at each other, trying to reminisce our lives two years ago, both of us attempting to treat new friends to a dessert only to have it come looking like, erm, split peanuts.
it is going for dinner with "Regular Cod" and promptly spending the next two hours pouring your troubles out to each other and hoping they'll understand and not find it a burden. It's pretending soggy fries are doritos and weird waiters are milanese nightingales. It's also going for shlurppy dessert and spending another hour babbling about something and nothing.
life is about sharing and laughing, about caring and smiling. life is beautiful. now if only i can take a snapshot to immortalise this day.
